— by David Herkt: Filled with contemporary references and the collective junk of our common psyches, Sharon Lam’s Lonely Asian Woman is just like a curated Tumblr blog.

“Lonely Asian Women Looking for Fun” are the inhabitants of email spam catchers and uninvited screen ads.

They are internet clickbait and a sign of our times. They tell us about ourselves.

Sharon Lam’s Lonely Asian Woman is a hallucinatory swing through this same contemporary world. Lam gives her reader “Imaginary TED-Talks in the Shower” and “Psychic Uber Drivers”, via pottles of Guerlain eye-cream. “Pat pat pat. Never rub in eye cream, always pat.” It’s a world of products and situations that hang perilously on the edge of control
